SENIOR ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERALDUTIES: This position is primarily responsible for handling all matters relating to the Public Private Transportation Act, which may include work as a legal liaison with transportation entities in the Northern Virginia region and throughout the Commonwealth. The Public Private Transportation Act provides for an alternative procurement method whereby private enterprise and the public transportation entities can join to construct, reconstruct, operate and maintain various transportation projects. The position also deals with federal aid financing and authorization of transportation projects. This attorney will advise, represent and consult with the Secretary of Transportation and the executives and managers in multiple modal agencies working on the several Public Private Transportation Act projects throughout the Commonwealth. The position requires knowledge of related substantive and procedural law, rules and statutes. It also requires continuous evaluation and negotiation of various documents pertaining to the Public Private Transportation Act, working knowledge of various means and methods of financing such projects, including but not limited to tolling, and post transaction legal advice.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of experience including significant expertise in negotiating and analyzing complex agreements as well as experience working with both governmental and private entities. Experience in negotiating public private agreements is highly desirable.
