SENIOR CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR
OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
PUBLIC SAFETY AND ENFORCEMENT DIVISION
SPECIAL PROSECUTIONS SECTION
MEDICAID FRAUD CONTROL UNIT

DUTIES:  Conducts complex investigations on health care providers participating in the Virginia Medicaid Program.  Reviews voluminous records, participates and/or assists in search warrants, drafts overpayment schedules, participates and/or assists in undercover operations and assists the investigative supervisor with training newly hired criminal investigators.  Some overnight travel is required.  This position will work out of the Richmond, Virginia office.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants must have a related undergraduate degree or commensurate experience.  Major course work in the criminal justice field, or prior law enforcement experience is preferred.  Course work or experience in financial auditing, in the investigation of financial or white collar crime, or experience in health care-related fields will be considered.  Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing and database management systems (Microsoft products preferred).  Criminal background check will be completed on successful candidate.

SALARY:  This is a salaried, non-exempt position with full state benefits.  Salary commensurate with experience.
