OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
CRIME ANALYST
PUBLIC SAFETY & ENFORCEMENT DIVISION
SPECIAL PROSECUTIONS & ORGANIZED CRIME SECTION

DUTIES:  Responsibilities include assisting in criminal investigations for the Office of the Attorney General and other state and local law enforcement agencies.  This individual will be expected to compile data, prepare exhibits, and analyze evidence to assist in criminal prosecutions in state and federal court.  Further responsibilities include the investigative process and trial preparation by identifying and preparing witnesses, retrieving documents and other evidence through the use of warrants, identifying the organizational structure of gangs under investigation, and obtaining information through computer forensics. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and analytical ability, considerable knowledge of criminal law and procedure, and the ability to work independently and as a team member to successfully complete complex assignments within prescribed time limits.  A minimum of five years of sworn law enforcement, 28 CFR 23 training, and familiarity with Analyst Notebook is preferred.  Starting salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
