Seniors: Virginia TRIAD Resources

The City of Alexandria becomes the 223rd locality to sign onto Triad, on Oct. 5, 2007. Left to Right: Vice Mayor Del Pepper, Attorney General McDonnell, Del. David Englin, Sheriff Dana Lawhorne, Triad/S.A.L.T. Council Chair & AARP member Mike Wenk and Police Chief Deputy Blaine Corle. More than 50 Alexandria citizens turned out for the Triad signing ceremony.

The goal of the Virginia Triad Office is to provide information and resources to Triad chapters across the Commonwealth. We can assist you in organizing your Triad, planning ideas and programs for your seniors, and provide training opportunities for law enforcement, senior volunteers, and community groups.

Attorney General McDonnell speaks to Norfolk senior citizens at the Kick-off for the Yellow Dot Program in May 2007. The Yellow Dot Program provides first responders including police, EMS workers and firefighters with a visual aid to recognize when automobile occupants have special medical info stored in their vehicle. Norfolk Triad sponsors the program, and decals are available through the Sheriff’s Office, Police Department or Fire Department.
